Blue Tape

In Vastu Shastra, Blue Vastu Tape is the primary remedy for balancing the Water Element (Jal Tattva). Like the red and yellow tapes, it is a non-invasive tool used to “block” or “neutralize” energy imbalances caused by toilets or entrances in specific directions.

The color blue represents depth, flow, and calmness. It is the elemental color for the North and North-East zones.

Key Description

• Material: It is a heavy-duty, waterproof vinyl or PVC tape with strong adhesive, designed to stay stuck to bathroom tiles and floor thresholds.

• Color Significance: Blue represents the Water element. In Vastu’s “Elemental Strip Technique,” blue tape is used to harmonize zones that are governed by water or to “cool down” zones where the water element is being drained or disrespected.

• Symbolism: It acts as a symbolic “seal” that prevents the draining energy of a toilet from pulling down the positive opportunities and health associated with the water zones.

Primary Uses

• Toilet Correction (North & North-East): This is the most critical use. If a toilet is located in the North (N), North-East (NE), or East-North-East (ENE), it is said to “flush away” career opportunities, clarity of mind, and new ideas. Blue tape is applied around the toilet base to neutralize this effect.

• Entrance Blocking: If the main entrance falls in a negative “pad” (division) of the North or North-West zones, a strip of blue tape is applied across the floor threshold to block unfavorable energy from entering.

• Zonal Balancing: It can be applied along the skirting of a room to strengthen the water element in a zone that feels “weak,” helping inhabitants improve their networking and communication skills.

• Neutralizing “Anti-Elements”: If a kitchen (Fire) is wrongly placed in the North (Water), blue tape or a blue board is sometimes used under the stove to balance the clash between fire and water.

Ideal Placement & Directions

Installation & Care

1. Preparation: The floor must be scrubbed clean and dried completely. Any moisture or soap residue will cause the tape to peel within days.

2. The Technique: * Western Toilet: Apply the tape on three sides (front, left, and right).

   • Indian Toilet/Entrance: Apply the tape on all four sides or across the entire width of the door threshold.

3. No Gaps: The tape must be one continuous strip to create an “unbroken seal” of energy.

4. Maintenance: Since blue tape is often used in wet areas (toilets), check it monthly. If it begins to fade or the edges lift, replace it immediately to maintain the Vastu “block.”
